Defence Kidz is a purpose-driven charity supporting children from Defence and veteran families across Australia. Their mission focuses on connection, education, advocacy and inclusive programs – bridging the gap between military and civilian communities and fostering resilience, awareness and belonging.
Programs & Offerings
Connection Events & Community Spaces
Defence Kidz creates opportunities for Defence families to connect through community events and dedicated “Defence Kidz” zones – building recognition, resilience and a sense of belonging.
School & Educator Tools
They work with schools to raise understanding of Defence life through classroom talks and initiatives like Create to Celebrate, alongside free classroom resources (activities, colouring sheets and guides) that promote empathy and recognition.
Resources & Creative Content
DefenceKidz develops practical tools for families and children – including children’s books, activity sheets, wellbeing modules and connection programs – designed to celebrate service and support everyday challenges of Defence life.
Defence Kidz Packs
Bespoke packs created with clinical input provide comfort, connection and practical tools during deployments, relocations and other times of change – helping kids feel seen and supported.
Advocacy & Partnerships
Through advocacy and collaboration with supporters and partners (including organisations across Defence and community), Defence Kidz scales impact and expands access to resources for families nationwide.
