LifeUnleashed

WorkSec proudly sponsors LifeUnleashed – a veteran-founded not-for-profit organisation supporting Veterans and First Responders living with PTSD through highly trained service dogs and community connection.

WorkSec & LifeUnleashed

WorkSec proudly sponsors LifeUnleashed, a veteran-founded Australian not-for-profit that empowers Veterans and First Responders living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). By pairing individuals and families with highly trained service dogs, LifeUnleashed helps them regain independence, confidence, and wellbeing. Our support enables LifeUnleashed to continue expanding its reach and changing lives through the power of the human–canine bond.

“LifeUnleashed is very appreciative of Worksec’s support of our cause to train up more service dogs for veterans with PTSD.

“The generous donation from Worksec will go towards the Advanced Training and Public Access Skills of one of our dogs in training.  This includes:

  • Advanced Obedience: Dogs progress to more complex commands and reliable responses in varied environments.
  • Task Training: Specific skills are taught to mitigate PTSD symptoms, such as interrupting anxiety behaviours, providing deep pressure therapy, or retrieving medication.
  • Public Access Training: Dogs are trained to behave appropriately in public, including shops, restaurants, and busy thoroughfares, following Australian public access laws.
  • Distraction Proofing: Systematic exposure to loud noises, crowds, and unusual sights to ensure the dog remains calm and focused.”

About LifeUnleashed

LifeUnleashed is a national charity operated by Integra Service Dogs Australia, dedicated to supporting Veterans and First Responders experiencing PTSD and related mental health challenges. Based in Australia, the organisation’s mission is to empower those who have served to reconnect, recover, and rebuild through tailored assistance programs.

Since its inception, LifeUnleashed has supported more than 130 Australians and their families. It operates as a registered charity and recognised national provider under the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Psychiatric Assistance Dog Program. LifeUnleashed partners with Guide Dogs Victoria, Seeing Eye Dogs Vision Australia, and accredited private breeders to ensure dogs meet the highest standards of training and temperament for their partners.

Programs & Impact

Training & Placement of Service Dogs

LifeUnleashed provides intensive training for each assistance dog, ensuring that they are capable of supporting individuals living with PTSD. These dogs are trained to detect and respond to emotional cues, interrupt distressing behaviours, and create a sense of stability and safety for their handlers.

Veteran & First Responder Support

Through its programs, LifeUnleashed provides lifelong support for Veterans and First Responders, helping them manage the challenges of mental health and reintegration. The program focuses not only on individual recovery but also on strengthening family and community relationships.

Community Education & Engagement

Beyond training and placement, LifeUnleashed works to raise awareness of PTSD and mental health through community outreach and education. They share stories of transformation and resilience to inspire greater understanding and support for those who serve and protect Australia’s communities.

Partnerships & National Network

The organisation collaborates with national and international partners to deliver sustainable, high-impact outcomes. LifeUnleashed also engages brand partners and corporate supporters to help expand training capacity and extend the reach of its life-changing work across Australia.
